Why participate in the HEF’s Business Energy 101 Program?
The Holland Energy Fund, in collaboration with Lawrence Technological University’s RESTART program, partners with retired engineering professionals to provide free energy waste reduction and sustainability services. The program guides Michigan’s manufacturing and commercial sectors towards a low carbon future, ensuring competitiveness in the marketplace, and creating and retaining jobs.

Audits
Trained educators conduct assessments and make recommendations regarding how to:
- Maximize energy efficiency
- Reduce energy consumption
- Promote sustainable manufacturing practices
- Lower operational costs
Recommendations are based upon available advanced, expert or innovative energy and sustainability systems, processes and software tools.
Implementation
Project Implementation Assistance seeks to carry-out projects resulting from a Holland Energy Fund assessment, internal assessment, or third-party assessment, and the Project’s professionals serve as an owners’ representatives.
An energy concierge to work with you on:
- Source reduction planning assistance
- Detailed cost analyses
- Process mapping
- Extensive research
- Evaluation of behind-the-meter storage and back-up generation
- Help applying for grants, rebates and technical services at a National Laboratory
- Student mentoring, training and evaluation/project validation services are available at a nominal fee
- Energy efficiency project management assistance
